TMCC’s JIVE Selected for Prestigious Hudson Link Award
Truckee Meadows Community College has been selected by Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison as one of five programs nationwide to receive comprehensive support through a new national technical assistance initiative. The five programs are TMCC, Yale, Tufts, Goucher, and UT San Antonio. Through the competitive award, TMCC’s Justice Involved Education (JIVE) program will receive up to $50,000 in direct program funding.
Under the direction of Jarret Orcutt, Coordinator, the funding will support:
the development of a paid peer mentorship network staffed by individuals with lived
experience navigating the justice system,
a Regional Reentry Council convening courts, corrections, housing providers, and employers,
a Fair Chance Hiring Academy in partnership with the local Chamber of Commerce,
a comprehensive reentry resource directory for the Northern Nevada region, and
a customized support team of senior Hudson Link staff, successful alumni, and experts with lived experience to strengthen TMCC’s programming.
Congratulations to Jarret and the rest of the team at TMCC!
